Organization of working groups
To meet the objectives of structuring and fortifying an earth observation research network, the Défi Clé O3T has initiated the formation of interdisciplinary working groups.
These workgroups are formed around the four main types of regional territory (plain, mountain, coast and urban environments).
Methodology and associated resources
Each working group is independent and has a financial envelope enabling it to organize scientific events (meetings, workshops, etc.). The aim of these meetings is to create a scientific dynamic of inter-knowledge and sharing, and are essential to the structuring of regional scientific networks.
The work of the groups is also fueled by master’s internship grants (40 master’s internships for the whole Challenge), which are one of the key vectors of the collective work of the Défi Clé.
Each working group appoints two or three of scientific facilitators, whose role is to :
- Organize scientific activities within their group
- Report to the steering committee on these choices and actions
- Exchange ideas with other group leaders, to encourage the emergence of cross-disciplinary activities and project
- Contribute to the emergence and prioritization of structuring projects (thesis grants, etc.) within the extended steering committee
