Défi Clé O3T

Earth Observation and Territories in Transition

The « Défi Clé O3T », for “Earth Observation and Territories in Transition”, is a program initiated and financed by the Occitanie region and supported by the Communauté d’universités et établissements de Toulouse. O3T aims to build and develop interdisciplinary research to link Earth observation data at all scales with the needs and expectations of local stakeholders, in a global context of transitions (environmental, social, ecological, etc.).

Earth observation data are powerful resources for understanding how our planet functions, and for implementing strategies to mitigate and adapt to global change. They provide a global, regional or even local spatio-temporal vision, and concern many different activities, from agriculture to pollution monitoring, land use planning, meteorology, resources, etc. This global approach, essential for understanding the general context, must be accompanied by specific efforts on a regional scale to better understand not only environmental conditions, but also the associated human and social uses and issues.

  • Feder interdisciplinary groups of scientists working on E
  • Earth observation for territories in transition
  • Create a catalyst for the development of research addressing the challenges of territories in transition
  • Lift scientific barriers to bridge the gap between observations at all scales and local players
  • Unite local players in the field (research, local authorities, training, industry)
